How we calculate the DR Checker
What it measures
A domain's Ahrefs Domain Rating (DR) — a 0–100 estimate of overall backlink profile strength.
How it works
- 1The tool queries Ahrefs' own free DR data endpoint directly for the domain you enter.
- 2The number returned is Ahrefs' real, current DR — not a cached, sampled, or estimated figure computed by us.
- 3No backlink list or referring-domain detail is included — just the DR score itself, since that's what the free tier of the underlying data supports.
Real limitations
- DR is a third-party metric (Ahrefs'), not a Google ranking factor — it's a comparative estimate of link authority, not a guarantee of ranking position.
- A subdomain's DR can differ from its root domain's — check the exact hostname you care about.
