Google Docs to Markdown Converter
Google Docs carries formatted content onto your clipboard when you copy — paste it here and it converts straight to clean Markdown, without connecting your Google account.
How to use it: open your Google Doc, select the content (Cmd/Ctrl+A for the whole doc), copy, then paste into the box below.
Copying from Notion instead? Use the Notion version — same converter, tuned instructions.
FAQ
Do I need to connect my Google account?
No — this doesn't request any Google account access. Select the content in your doc, copy it, and paste it below; nothing is sent anywhere.
How do I select an entire document to copy?
Click into the document, then press Cmd/Ctrl+A to select everything, then Cmd/Ctrl+C to copy. Pasting that below preserves headings, bold/italic, links, and lists.
Will it keep my heading levels (H1, H2, etc.)?
Yes — Google Docs' paragraph styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, ...) carry through the clipboard's formatted HTML and map to the matching Markdown heading level.
